Tool progression and enchantments in Minecraft are broken. It involves a lot of mundane grinding and tedious tasks.
To start off, the enchantment table. Enchanting is widely accepted as one of the most hated and annoying tasks. The player must grind for days to get level 30 enchantments, and most likely will not get the desired enchant. Then, if the player wants more enchantments, they have to do this for every tool and armor. The player can build an experience farm, but these are boring to use.
Then there is the anvil. When the player finally gets their hands on a desired enchant book, they need to grind even more experience to put it on their tools. The anvil also takes a lot of experience, rather than just 1-3 levels like the enchantment table. The worst part of all, "Too expensive!".
Enchantment obtaining through villagers is also broken. The player must break and replace a lectern for a villager until they get the right enchantment, which is boring and doesn't make sense. It also encourages the player to make "trading halls" which are laggy, strange, and boring to use. This is the main way to get desired enchants, and no one enjoys it. Even then, they still have to go through the anvil.
We need a tool progression overhaul which involves a consistent and unique way of obtaining specific enchants. This would make tool progression fun and unique, involving a variety of tasks to get desired enchants. Experience needs to play less of a role too.
