That's something! You can also spread out by biomes! This will push inroks not to develop residents but to go to the mine!

I think having diamonds practically only in the deepslate layer isnt a good idea, breaking deepslate with an iron pickaxe is very slow. Maybe slightly improve rates in stone just to get players started for when they mine in deepslate for more items.

I feel like this change is not addressing Minecraft's balance issue, which leads to the game feeling less satisfying than it should be. I think the distribution of diamonds and diamond ore across the game needs to be looked at to help make the mining experience satisfying for the player. Additionally, diamonds feel useless after a certain point. I believe the two major issues causing this problem are: A) diamonds and diamond gear being too easily accessible via other methods and B) diamonds not scaling with difficulty.

Firstly I think that one of the primary issues with Minecraft's diamond distribution is that diamonds and diamond gear can be obtained too easily. The player can get diamonds through too many ways, like shipwrecks, villager trades, and the newly added archeology system. But I feel like this accessibility diminishes the significance of actually finding diamond ore through mining. It makes the game less rewarding in the long run because the player has too many easily obtained diamonds. Additionally, handing out diamond tools further diminishes that sense of accomplishment.

Secondly, diamonds should be used as a reward for facing a challenge. Increasing the diamonds on lower levels is a small step towards fixing this problem, but now they are too common there too. I think the biome should play a role in diamond placement. But in order to keep balance, diamonds and diamond ore should be significantly reduced elsewhere.

This change is okay for people trying to duplicate armor trimes and for everyone on a server.

I love that there are more diamonds in the deeplate level. It helps so much because I want to build diamond beacons and structures requiring diamonds. Using the semi auto mining machine is so much more rewarding too.

I believe disincentivizing strip mining and encouraging caving is a great idea. In a game teeming with structures and stories to be uncovered, more exploration is better! Either have more-frequent pockets of one or two diamonds, or infrequent pockets of larger pockets of diamonds, like old generation. While diamonds will be needed more in the update, having frequent large pockets would remove the excitement and value from diamonds. Another feature which will play a role in this change is villager trading - currently, villagers will trade any diamond tool or armor piece, leaving diamonds solely for tasks like crafting enchantment tables, jukeboxes, and armor trimmings.

I think it's better that every resident has unlocked all the books that can be in this village. That is, so that all books from this biome would be available at the last level of pumping a resident, + it seems to me that it is necessary to increase the level of enchantment of books from masters. It would also be great if the generation of diamonds depended on the biome and the type of caves where they are generated.

    We don't need this change

Currently players mining at levels higher than deepslate for diamonds is not an issue. Everybody searches for diamonds below y=0. I would actually argue that diamonds are already common enough and should be made rarer to bring back that rewarding feeling of finding them like in the older versions.

I don't think diamonds are scarce, necessarily. I think they're just hard to get. The biggest use for diamonds is probably trim duplication, since those things are so ridiculously expensive, so more/easier diamonds are needed. I think my own preference would be an endgame way to insta-mine deepslate rather than more diamonds, like with a haste 2 beacon, because diamonds aren't really HARD to find, but they are time consuming

More diamonds COULD be good, the thing is that making diamonds less and less rare decreases the hype around them. Such as back in something like release 1.0, finding diamonds felt like being on top of the world. But now diamonds have lost that special rarity when diamonds are just being made easier and easier to find.

I think it's good for more diamonds but comments on a video I watched they suggested maybe instead off more ore we get more diamonds from the ore that's already there so instead off 1 diamond with normal pickaxe we get 2 or 3 and instead off 3 diamonds with fortune 3 pickaxe we get 4 to 5 because people who.play console cannot reset chunks and I don't want to start a new world.

As a struggling strip miner this new change pleases me.

Personally I don't like this change.

Diamonds are supposed to be rare, precious and grindy to get. Even now if you go mining regularly, you will accumulate a bunch of them rather quickly. Not as fast to easily build a diamond beacon, but still a decent amount.

Recently demand for them increased because of the armour trims, but I feel like most players are hoarding instead of using them anyway.

I like to build with diamond blocks on special occasions as an expensive accent block, exactly because they are rare. Diamonds are a classic minecraft flex.

If you increase their generation to this new degree, they will become almost worthless in my opinion and this doesn't feel right at all.

Edit: Also don't forget about end cities (and other sources). With this change, its loot becomes worthless aswell.

We don't need diamonds value inflation in minecraft.

This is a good change. If you compare the effectiveness of strip mining or branch mining now between 1.16 and now, the amount of diamonds you could get per hour is a ridiculous difference, and for big projects it can be an absolute pain to gather so many. Hopefully this would revert the nerf created by the addition of deepslate. Good feature, just don't do the villager one please.

Please keep diamonds rare. Instead, make some dangerous biomes more rich in diamonds, like underwater caves, deep dark, and especially the ancient cities.

Honestly I struggle to find redstone more than diamonds atm. Would love to see increased redstone distribution.

More diamonds is bad, I already have more diamonds then I need and minecraft already has a problem with people just going straight for end game gear and skipping all the content in between.

I feel as if they are too common now. Maybe an in-between of the old diamond rates and new experimental diamond rates? They should be valuable and a challenge to obtain, so you might not want to ruin that by making them too common. Maybe they could spawn more under specific biomes (like gold in badlands).

Diamonds were already easy to find just by entering a big cave and immediately seeing like 5 veins

I'm not sure if this is a good change

I think this is good, and it would be even better if the armoror/weaponsmith/toolsmith replaced their diamond items with iron items that have REALLY good enchants (like mending or maxed out efficiency or prot 4)

maybe make the wandering trader occasionally sell diamond things, so that they're still obtainable in superflat and technically not finite

That way diamond stays a lategame item, and even if you obtain it, you might want to stick with the iron armor for a while.

With more common diamond ore, people will be able to craft diamond armor faster, but might want to keep the diamonds for trims and stay in iron.

I think iron should be considered mid-tier, right now people don't use it for more than a few hours until they get maxed out infinite diamond gear.

I think should lower the demand of Diamonds, Instead of increasing the supply. Maybe copying Smithing Template requires fewer Diamonds?

It's better to keep diamonds rare and valuable, also people won't have to travel to new chunks/ new worlds just for better mining.

Hi! I like everything, except that I would like to increase the maximum sale of items from a traveling merchant to three, and I had an idea... and why are there no water inhabitants? in the sea, where you could build villages yourself in order to buy "tyagun, loyalty, etc." from the sea inhabitants.

In a recent survival server I made, it was apparent how easy it was to find diamonds. I actually think the amount of diamonds spawned should be reduced a little bit or just not changed at all. Diamonds should feel rare and valuable and be something special when you find them.

Way too much diamonds, a competent player will go to a water cave and with the improved rates + the ore not being surrounded by air he will get way too much diamonds for the time he has invested.

Mojang shouldn't make diamond ore more common Mojang should make bigger ore depossits for the people that want to strip mine and smaller but more common ones for the people that want to explore caves. (This being determined by the ore being next to a water or air block). Right now the people that want to strip mine just can't with out an eficiency 4 pickaxe.

Its really dissapointing mining for 30 minutes to find one diamond ore :/
