I think more diamonds are good but i think it woud be great but i think it woud be better if it depends on the biome like gold. It woud be great if under tall mountains generate more diamonds than under a plains biom

After exploring, I like it, but I think what would be better is if the deep dark, the most dangerous underground biome had more diamonds than the rest of the underground

Honestly, I don't want a change in the generation of diamonds. I found it interesting how the duplication of armor molds works, and how the player must visit all the structures to get it. Making it easier would be annoying, not to mention that it's already annoying to have too many diamonds, since if I don't duplicate the templates, I'll have a pile of useless diamonds

adding more diamonds is good but i think it would be better if it was ones not in caves. when i go cave mining i always find so many diamonds even now that the spawn rate is lowered, but in deepslate with an iron pickaxe, strip mining is so dull and slow. i think the ability to find more diamonds while strip mining would make a lot of people encouraged to try different mining methods

I thing diamonds aren't what player use for diamond armor they use villagers

I think it'd be better if they tweaked this decreased air exposure thing to some extent. It encourages strip mining and in the deepslate levels it is so slow and boring as this other person said. I sometimes get bored of playing just because I spend a lot of time strip mining. Same thing happened with villager trading when I was trying to get fortune 3 to mine diamonds. It's a good thing that you're changing the way it works and nerfing it so that it's not too overpowered as before. Definitely a good change.
I dont know if this increased diamond generation will make up for the nerf in villager trading for us who used to get fortune 3 via villagers before mining for diamonds early game though.

I think it is not a good idea. Diamond ore should be rare and more valuable to let the player to explore further. Players can also acquire them from the special structures by their adventures. (There are already too much diamonds which provide from those structure instead of their special unique items, like smithing template.)

I checked to see the rates and omg there is way too much diamonds now, they're everywhere (reminds me of some old 1.18 snapshots), ill say more diamonds are good but maybe you should tweak the amount a little more

Edit: i did some more survival playtest and it's actualy fine, from a two hour session i got 2 stacks of iron but only 24 diamands, tho i wasnt in one of those HUGE caves so i might need to do some more testing, all around: if the rates are to be tweaked, dont decrease them more than a tiny little bit

I think the generation of diamonds should depend on the difficulty of the game, whether it is easy, normal or hard. If you want to keep it that way, I think that when there is a diamond nearby, more enemies should appear so that it is not an easy task to mine a large number of them, and you have to have a preparation beforehand.

I dont like this. this will encourage strip mining. a good thing to do would be make them more rare and instead of reduced air exposure do increased air exposure, then people will go caving instead.

I like the changes! I personally felt the deepslate layer was lacking Diamonds/rewards. You should be rewarded for going deeper. I personally agree with this change and feel it will make gameplay more smooth and generous.

Under mountains, where deep dark is, is where daimonds should be more common, not everywhere as the game feels to easy

Mojang, could you make diamonds a little more rare so it would be more fun to find diamonds.

Please keep diamonds rare. Instead, make some dangerous biomes more rich in diamonds, like underwater caves, deep dark, and especially the ancient cities.

Before I used to complain that diamonds didn't come out, now I'll complain that there are too many. I recommend that you lower the diamond generation a bit. It would also be good for it to stay as before but for it to come out more frequently (not so much) in mountain biomes and in deep dark

Somoeone please tell me if this applies to old chunks or will this new distribution only be found in newly generated chunks

I like this change because now its easier to duplicate smithing templates and it makes sense

I think having diamonds practically only in the deepslate layer isnt a good idea, breaking deepslate with an iron pickaxe is very slow. Maybe slightly improve rates in stone just to get players started for when they mine in deepslate for more items.

As a struggling strip miner this new change pleases me.

Diamonds were already easy to find just by entering a big cave and immediately seeing like 5 veins

I'm not sure if this is a good change

In a recent survival server I made, it was apparent how easy it was to find diamonds. I actually think the amount of diamonds spawned should be reduced a little bit or just not changed at all. Diamonds should feel rare and valuable and be something special when you find them.

Hi, is it possible to tell us how exactly was changed? what the numbers and porcentages of the new generation, compared to the one before maybe?

I think this would be good if diamonds were increased in the deep dark biome cuz then it would be a risky mission but with good reward

But, there are already SO much diamond down there. I have shulker boxes filled of diamond ore, but they have basically no real value in the game anymore, since the introduction of Mending and Diamond Gear and Tool Trades. If anything, Diamonds needs to be rarer - but maybe drop more once you find them.

sure if theyre a challenge to get, like on cave roofs or the deep dark

Diamonds should have value, I think the best solution is to reduce the amount of diamonds used to make the armor trims.

I just passed sometime in creative exploring caves under y -40 and making a branch mining at y -54, this is my experience:
It's way easier to find diamond at caves, before you would find only 1 block veins very spreadly, but now you can find a lot of blobs more frequently (maybe reduced air exposured is removed?), they are still small blobs (1-3 diamonds), but the fact they are more frequent makes caving actually a good option to find diamonds now (which is cool because it was the fun way but you wouldn't get so much diamonds anymore since 1.18)
Branch mining (with a long 2x2 corridor with 1x2 tunnels along it with 3 blocks between them) doesn't feel that different The veins size used to always be 8 diamonds when mining, but now it seems to have more variation in size going 3-6 diamonds most of times (it's still bigger than the air exposured ones in the caves), so with the bigger frequency makes the amount of diamonds per time mined still the same, and also makes the branch mining less tedious and more exciting, it's more fun to find 3 blobs of 4 in ten minutes, than just 1 of 8 in 10 minutes

Overall these changes makes caving a good option to mine diamonds without making branch mining less efficient as well (because mining deepslate takes way to much time), combining both makes mining diamonds overall less grindy and time comsuming to get a good amount in a area. Before it would need always go branch mining and go for LONG (slow mining) tunnels to be efficient

More diamonds is definitely better. Personally I'd like to see only buried diamonds be more common at very very low, like near bedrock level. That way people won't be able to just run through caves for easy diamonds, and it rewards people who strip mine (since they won't be air exposed).
