How about placing the Dragon Egg in a cave and wait for 3 MINECRAFT days for it to hatch. I say this because Jeb stated that it would hatch from the Dragon Egg if it was ever implemented.

I haven't tested it out yet because I play on a Nintendo Switch Lite, but I think that the vibrations should appear to let you know when the Darkstone, or Deepstone cave is nearby.
