Mojang confirmed that they won't be adding more armor types stronger than netherite. Having armor stronger than netherite 2 updates after the Nether Update will just make it useless to grind nether...

There's already glowsticks in Education Edition. Doubt they'll add them since it's supposed to be an exclusive item that needs all of the elements in Education Edition.
