I think Rabies are an interesting idea, especially if it affects normally passive and neutral mobs. It should make mobs hostile toward every creature that doesn't have rabies unless it accidentally...

This would be a good alternative to an earthquake as it wouldn't really destroy anything, just affect how the world works

They could only be triggered underground but effect the land above them. I imagine it would send mobs into a panicked state, items would pop out of item frames, crops and plants may be destroyed, etc

This ones a bit intense, but I think it would be cool to have ravines that appear as if the world is ripping apart. They would simply destroy blocks and make a whole, leaving everything above them ...

I'm not sure Ender Pearls should do this, but snowballs shouldn't as it is more playful. Perhaps they don't anger if it hits Villager children
