Chains could simply be wrapped around chests and doors. Not only would it make it so the chests can't be opened, but it makes it difficult to mine the blocks

I don't see how this would be useful. Doors can already be placed to look as if they are open, and having a door that won't open without power is essentially just a block that has to be mined through
