It should be called Deepslate Gravel, Deep Gravel, Dark Gravel, or something like that. There should also possibly be variants for Granite, Diorite, and Andesite Gravel.

You may just not understand redstone well enough, there are plenty of workarounds. But i like it. It would be annoying if you accidently toggled a redstone torch and didnt know...
