This idea is great and all, but chances are that many popular servers (Hypixel, PvPLegacy, etc.) would 'Verify', and the report system would still plague these servers, potentially killing them off...

Sprint bridging isn't something mojang can just "fix." It is a technique like critical hits. If anything, the server would fix this, not mojang.

If you want Pre-1.9 combat, either use the command /attribute @s attack_speed 22 or just play a previous installation.
