Would be cool, with a few tweaks: it spawns rarely and accumulates gold nuggets (up to 9), spawns in larger veins and gives off a golden particle.

Good point about charged creeper functionality. I could imagine charged gunpowder being added and a stronger tier of TNT crafted with it.
