This would also give map creators another tool for their arsenal; interactive rooms. Specifically, interactive libraries where the player could find books detailing the map or story's lore.

Also, maybe craft the redstone with a slimeball to make sticky redstone that can be placed on ANY side of a block!

Maybe do this for potion effects gained from commands as well?

we already have this, torch on side or top of block, when the block is powered the torch turns off.
