Look at this chart (https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Piston#Limitations) is this what you wanted? Obsidian can't be pushed or pulled by sticky pistons, for example.

It's a neat idea, and I like how it integrates kelp into the game, but they did specifically ask us to not focus on complicated prepared foods like this one, so.... And as for your bowl of water id...
