The crimson mosquitoes can be eaten by frogs to make a new kind of crimson froglight. Since Mojang rejected to add fireflies, crimson mosquitoes could be a good replacement.

It’s possible to have negative defence from this status effect. If you have negative defence, you will take more damage from every single damage type except starvation.
