    Maybe the bamboo block should be a storage block so you can craft it back to 9 bamboo sticks. Then you'd need four bamboo blocks (4x4 recipe) to craft 8 bamboo planks. Or maybe even only 1 plank so it's a little more expensive? Hm...

    Bamboo Blocks should be smeltable into charcoal.

    I have few suggestions for this feature:
    1) The textures sit weirdly with me for some reason, maybe some adjustments so it doesn't look so cartoonist

    2) [After hopefully texture adjustment] More, patterned arrangements of bamboo would be cool, similarly to the mosaic variant.

    Waxing Bamboo for Green Bamboo Set

    Waxing Bamboo like copper to create a split line of bamboo wood sets in the color green.

    Basically you could use honeycomb from bees in a crafting recipe on either eight of the new green bamboo block or regular bamboo to get a waxed variant. That waxed variant can now be crafted into a parallel wood set to the regular bamboo set.

    Appeal to Mojang's educational ambitions: Bamboo charcoal is a thing in real life. 

    So is bundling bamboo and then later unbundling.

    Please make the bamboo block recipe reversible and add smelting bamboo blocks to charcoal.

    Currently, getting bamboo planks is oddly long-winded, so i think it should be changed so that bamboo planks only costs 4 bamboo, while a block of bamboo costs 9 bamboo.

    A block of bamboo should also be craftable back into 9 bamboo, so it works as a container block, like iron blocks or hay bales.

    Personally I think the recipe to make bamboo planks should be re-added with 2x2 to allow making planks if you don't have a crafting table.

    As a bonus, crafting bamboo blocks in 3x3 then can be crafted into 3 planks instead of 2.

    This will avoid the catch-22 dilemma where you need wood planks to make a crafting table but to make a crafting table, you need bamboo planks which can only be crafted from bamboo blocks from 3x3.

    TL;DR: Keep the 3x3 recipe for bamboo block, change bamboo blocks to give 3 planks, re-add 2x2 bamboo recipe for 1 plank block.

    Can we have a 3rd variation of bamboo blocks' textures: smoked bamboo? By placing stripped bamboo block above a campfire, it will be smoked and turn reddish brown.

    While tweaking bamboo and stuff we may also be able to cook bamboo in order to eat it or cook dried blocks of bamboo to produce a tan/brown "steamed bamboo" look. I'd also greatly appreciate it if bamboo had sliding doors for a more Eastern Asia feel to them to show more diversity! (while on that topic being able to have a fish and surround it by kelp would be a great idea for sushi! Rice could be a thing too :) )

    Maybe Bamboo could also be used for a simple type of armor, like what the Samuri wore. It would be stronger than leather, but weaker than iron...

    I think it’s a great idea personally, but it’s just the color/colour. I don’t really like how yellow it is, as in real life it’s more green than yellow. I agree with the other comments. Add a green variant?

    Now it will much easier if you spawn in bamboo. It wasn’t the ideal place to start a survival world.

    Why not created a big or giant bamboo tree with block of bamboo as log ? It will allow to get us a new type of leaves and two type of bamboo tree ! And it's realisitc because there exist different bamboo with different diameter !

    Unlike every other wood type, bamboo isn't sold by the wandering trader. Add it to the wandering trader's loot tables with the same drop rate of the other saplings.

    I think making a bamboo chute act as a sapling would help Bamboo feel more like a wood type. I think that it would also be good to use this wood type for a bamboo forest varient of a village. A normal Jungle village would be good as well. And adding Swamp villages using mangrove wood would also be appropriate.

    I think the bamboo raft should look more like a raft more than a bamboo boat. It's too deep to feel like a raft. BUT I'M SO HYPED STILL

    That isn't the steel of minecraft so I don't like it.
