One thing about minecraft that I like is how instead of level based it is gear based in its progression, and well this is inspired by mods but I think there should be some more customization to the gear. For this reason I suggest a smithing table and fleching table update.
UPDATE: Tools of the trade.
main feature, tool and weapon customization. outside of enchanting.
Smithing table, now you can use it to add blade or shaft mods to weapons and tools, wanted your iron ax to have a diamond tip now you can, wanted the wood type of your netherite hoe to be different craft away, wanted to add a lether grip to your shovel now you can.
The smithing table allows 3 new things, Tip customization, Handle material, and grip material.
Tip customization, this allows you to do some interesting things, example would be putting a curved blade on a sword, or diamond tiping your ax. this comes in two flavors type and material. Type changes swing speed and damage a bit, while material changes tool use speed and damage, durability is still based on base craft.
handle material: completely cosmetic
grip material: Increases durability abit, 5% by silk, 10% by leather, and 15% by phantom membrane.
Teh black smith table also allows level less repairs but it costs 100% of resources used in crafting, so the more expensive the tool the more expensive it is to repair.
---------
fletching table
the same as the smithing but for bows and crossbows, has string, material, and tip mods. all are similar in use.
