After watching the new Minecraft live, one thing that seemed off with the new bamboo blocks were how thick they were. Growing up in South-East Asia, bamboo scaffolding, fencing and walling were very common. However, the defining traits of all of these structures were how thin they were, a feature the new blocks don't really replicate. For this reason I firmly believe the new bamboo block should have a vertical slab variant to allow for more accurate building. I understand Mojang believes half-slabs restrict creativity but this can only apply to bamboo, giving it another use in building. The texture of the bamboo stairs should be more frame-like, similar to the scaffolding block. This will not only be more accurate, it'll also prevent all the bamboo blocks from blending together into one bland texture.
I know the textures and models in the trailers aren't final but I think studying real examples of bamboo architecture would benefit the game greatly. I've provided a link to what I think is a great example and I thank you for taking your time to read this!
