Concept: A bed that is functionally identical to the existing beds except it has a flag (in code) that prevents villagers from recognizing it.
Purpose: Allow players to craft usable beds (e.g. for a player base) within village range that don't inherently trigger villager breeding or villagers staking claim. It would prevent the undignified practice of kicking a villager out of its own bed as well as avoid losing a re-spawn point because you slept in your inventory-kept bed and broke it without setting another spawn point...right before you DIED! Ugh.
Limitation: Make building the bed non-trivial, in terms of materials, to avoid over-saturation in Survival Mode. For instance, a reasonable material cost might be: 3 wool, 3 iron and 3 diamonds.
Appearance: Aesthetically, the bed would be nearly identical (and dye-able) except for 2 details. Instead of an oak frame the bed would have an iron-colored palette, and to be able to identify the bed as Player-Only when surrounded by half-slabs it would have a 2 or 3-pixel black stripe between the dye-able sheets and static-white top.
