Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

New metal in Deep Dark- Shadow Steel

Shadow Steel gear could be either an alternative for diamond or slightly stronger. It would be found in the deep dark as a navy blue or black with blue spots similar to the sculk around it. The block would be a deepslate ore, and mining the block would cause a strong sound to occur, so miners would have to be careful of the warden while digging. Shadow Steel bars may also be sometimes found in chests in Ancient Cities, giving the player more reason to search the structure. Making shadow steel gear would be similar to making the current iron or diamond gear sets, although it adds echo shards, granting another use for the crystals.

    It wouldn't be slightly stronger, because diamond always must stay the most powerful material (and netherite is an upgrade/variation of it). It also couldn't act the same as diamond because then why not just get diamond instead of risking your life in the deep dark? Maybe the armour would have the same toughness as iron, but the same durability as diamond. It would also grant an extra ability, like being able to withstand distortion effects with a full set (such as blindness, darkness and nausea).

    The problem is, because enchanted diamond gear is already found in the ancient cities, having shadow steel be weaker than the diamond wouldn't work. However the idea for an added ability sounds good, so maybe it cannot be enchanted. Instead, it could have a higher durability, and be more efficient than unenchanted or low level enchanted diamond gear.
