Natural Elements affected by the Deep Dark.
Similar to other biomes, the color of leaves would be affected by the deep dark too. Down here, the leaves will be significantly darker with potentially some signs of skulk through them. Water should also be a much darker shade of blue, or potentially black. Both of these texture changes would make the deep dark feel a lot more ominous, adding to the creepy atmosphere of the biome. -
Warden’s best friend..
It’s well established that the warden is connected to axolotls to a certain extent lore-wise, I feel like this should show in gameplay too. A fun way to do this would be to have a pond should spawn, which would contain lily pads and an axolotl. (Increase axolotl spawn rates down here too!) This axolotl would be resting on the lilypad (with a new animation). If the player approaches this axolotl, it would dive under the water quickly before a warden leaps out at the player from the murky depths under the lilypad with a new animation. Triggering this scene would give the player the advancement “Ambushed!”. If the player is killed by this warden ambush, the death message “[Player Name] learnt the hard way that not all is what it seems.” In addition to this feature, Wardens should not agro on axolotls, and potentially be seen gently carrying axolotls back to the water if they stray too far. Finally, axolotls that haven’t been kept in buckets by a player before should agro on the player during warden chases scenes- showing their backstory
