Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Ability to throw an object to create light in caves

I believe it would be beneficial to harvest/craft an item that you can throw to create a light source. I'm sure I am one of may people who are intimated by giant caves, with only a light source that can be placed within reach. My idea is that this item, when thrown, would change a natural block into a light source on contact. Thank you for reading my idea and for the great game!

    May be a silly idea, but if we could make "sticky" torches using slime balls, and throw the item like a fireball, then it could spawn a torch on the surface it hits.

    Maybe something like"glowing ball" that sticks to surface,crafted from glow berries and slime balls?

    This should just be a feature from flame bows.

    ^I also thought if by flaming arrows, but arrows are entities, they don't affect light levels (hence mobs will still spawn), and they will eventually despawn.
