The allay duplication is over-powered: idea to balance it.

I think that duplicating allays is a very good mechanism. But in this snapshot, you can create as many allays as you want with one single starting allay: it is overpowered. So I think you should add a condition for duplication: there must be a certain number of allays (e.g. 10) within a certain number of blocks (e.g. 15).

    I don't think requiring a minimum number of allays before duplication can occur is a good way to balance the allay duplication mechanic. The purpose of the duplication mechanic is to allow you to get more allays when you currently have few. Instead, the duplication mechanic should be balanced by increasing the rarity of the item used for duplication. I suggest that allays should be duplicated using a totem of undying instead of amethyst shards. Totems of undying are renewable via raid farms, but require more effort to acquire than amethyst shards do. Additionally, this might have lore implications since allays and totems of undying can both be found in woodland mansions.

    It is worth simply replacing the amethyst with a more valuable resource.

    I personally prefer it be more accessible. Amethyst is an easy to acquire material and new players won't struggle with it. Allay should just be a friendly pet mob you can easily get more of, like cats, axolotl or dogs.
