Makes sense to me. After all, they can shoot firework rockets, why not fire charges? Also, they should be able to shoot snowballs, enderpearls, and eggs, but faster and with more knockback than throwing them.

Not everything should be fireable from a crossbow. Snowballs, eggs, and enderpearls would break in midair, and would have no purpose if they didn't.

Why would them breaking when they hit something change anything? In real life, crossbows don't shoot fireworks.

I just had this idea, but you beat me by almost a year. I agree with your proposal, but I think the fire charges should at least do a little amount of damage. Fire charges shot from dispensers deal 1.5 hearts of damage as well as setting the player ablaze. I think crossbows should at least match that. After all, using fire charges in a crossbow seems like it would mostly be for combat reasons. I do agree that shots should also set blocks ablaze. Imagine the tactics you could use with a multishot fire charge crossbow. Like fireworks, fire charges would probably use 3 durability per shot, with multishot using 9 durability.

I really want this feature to see the light of day. Any feedback or further commentary would be most appreciated. Great suggestion!
