A new game setting called "Save Inventory" which removes the stress of losing all your items upon death, but keeps the risk of death and an incentive to not die. Upon death, you would place a pouch item which acts like a placed block rather than a dropped item. Inside, will be all of your items, alongside special slots for your off-hand, your armour and your hotbar. It would be accessed the same way a chest would be. They are affected by gravity, cannot burn and cannot be blown upon or even destroyed by hand or any tool, but they will automatically dissappear once they are completely emptied, and once an item is removed you cannot put it back in. They never despawn, giving the player as much time as they please to return to their items, further reducing the stress of Minecraft's current death system. To avoid losing all your stuff if you die to lava or suffocation, the pouch will always be placed in the last air block with a solid block beneath it. I'm sure many players would find this addition to be very good, as it is a common issue that finding your items on a time limit or losing your items to the void or lava is very stressful and often puts people off of the game, whilst keep inventory is far too easy, offering no risk and shortly becomes boring. This new setting would provide a nice balance between the two, whilst keeping the options for players to use the already existing keep inventory off and on setting.
