Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Map art

I think a great thing mojang can add to minecraft is the ability to make maps smaller using a cartography table. This would be incredibly usefull for people who do lots of map art, especialy in survival, as they would not need to fill out as many blocks. An example of this game mechanic could be to use shears or an empty slot on the cartography table to decrease the map size.

    This would be great. I have heard that a good way this could be done in game would be if adding shears to a map in the cartography table to make the map size smaller.
