Pirates will essentially be pillagers of the sea. They contain mainly the same loot as buried ships, however it has the new mob, the pirate. Regular pirates have a chance to drop a new weapon, cutlass, similar to tridents for drowned. The cutlass will have the same damage as an iron sword but has a swipe on every attack. If you charge the swipe it will do 8 dmg, if you spam it, it will do 4. You can charge the swipe right click. A drawback would be that you can not use a shield. However the cutlass has more range than the average sword to make up for it. A new boss in the game would be the pirate captain. For every 1 in 10 pirate ships, there will be a giant ship which will have more loot, more pirates and a pirate captain. The pirate captain is the only way to get a blunderbuss. The blunderbuss weapon is high dmg, slow reloading, ranged weapon. With the blunderbuss equipped you either right click or another keybind to open the menu for it. In the blunderbuss menu there will be 2 slots for ammo and gunpowder. You can use iron or gold nuggets for ammo. Iron will deal more dmg, however gold travels faster and can therefore go longer ranges. This weapon can also be enchanted. The enchants would be reload 1, 2, or 3 which obviously shorten reload time. Power, increases dmg. Punch or knockback. And lastly unbreaking. While the blunderbuss starts at a high durability unbreaking would still be a good enchant. A drawback to the weapon would be that it cant have mending, use sparingly
