Renewable Dirt/Use For Leftover Wood

What if, you could put wooden blocks and tools into a composter, similar to how you can put organic matter in to get bonemeal. Instead of receiving bonemeal however, once you fill the composter with enough wooden materials, it pops out a dirt block. Now, to balance it and make sure it isn’t to ridiculous, some items would only fill the composter partially. For example, sticks and buttons would only do a little bit, while logs and planks did a whole bunch. This addition to the game would also provide a use for extra leftover building materials, rather than just letting them sit in a random chest.
