Title: Soul Experience: A Second XP System for Magical Enchantments
With the Sift coming to Minecraft, I suggest adding soul experience as a second type of XP, with its own bar near the hotbar. Like normal XP, it would be collected, stored and spent on enchanting, not used as mana in combat.
Enchantments would be divided by how they work:
* Regular XP: Practical improvements such as Sharpness or Efficiency, which feel like improving a weapon or tool. This XP would still come from mining, smelting, breeding and trading.
* Soul XP: Supernatural enchantments such as Fire Aspect or Bane of Arthropods, which would require the power of souls.
Soul enchantments would use a separate Soul Enchanting Table, crafted with obsidian, a sculk sensor and a soul-related block (perhaps a soul block, if introduced).
Soul XP could be earned through the Sift and soul-related content.
This would make Ancient Cities and sculk more useful to ordinary players, connect enchanting to Minecraft’s lore and add a new reason to explore without simply making stronger gear.
