Suggestion: Expanded Decorative Block Variants
I’d love to see more decorative building variants added to existing blocks, giving builders more creativity and making more materials useful for detailed builds. Rather than adding completely new resources, existing blocks could receive matching brickwork, chiselled and smooth textures, along with stairs, slabs and walls where appropriate. This would create complete building sets while keeping each material visually unique.
Glass could have brick and chiselled textures, stairs, slabs, frosted and cracked variants, as well as weathered or yellowed versions that could rarely generate in abandoned or zombie villages.
Calcite would make an excellent pure-white building material, with its own brickwork, chiselled and smooth textures plus matching stairs, slabs and walls. It would provide a cleaner alternative to quartz without replacing its purpose.
Dripstone could also receive smooth and brickwork variants, making it much more useful outside of its current aesthetic.
Resource blocks could receive decorative variants as well, allowing their distinctive colours to be used in architecture without changing their original function.
Materials to apply this system to:
-
Glass
-
Calcite
-
Dripstone
-
Gold
-
Iron
-
Coal
-
Diamond
-
Netherite
-
Lapis Lazuli
-
Redstone
This would give builders significantly more options while reusing materials Minecraft already has.
