PART 1 THE REST IN COMMENT
Here me out:
-
Add the Bedrock cauldron features to Java Edition
-
Add the ability for cauldrons containing potions to apply their effects when you walk into them
-
Add and improve the coating mechanic:
¬ Potions can be used to coat weapons, not just arrows! (Possibly using the cauldron mechanics, or alternatively through crafting)
¬ The coating on weapons has a duration, either the same duration as the potion used or, alternatively, a limited number of hits
¬ Optional but very cool: coat weapons in real time by consuming a potion bottle held in the off-hand and applying it to the weapon in the main hand (same for arrows) -
Optional: add the ability to craft mercury through the refinement of cinnabar, producing "mercury nuggets"
-
Add the Philosopher's Stone:
¬ Made from mercury and sulfur (8 or 4 mercury + potent sulfur in the crafting table, or even better, by putting everything into a cauldron together with a healing/regeneration potion)
¬ Somewhat as a meme, since there is already plenty of gold, it could transmute gold into silver, which would then be used for crafting -
Add silver:
¬ A new item/material with both physical and magical properties
¬ Optionally, add silver tools and armor (durability could be roughly around gold's durability, perhaps slightly higher or lower). BUT! The main mechanic is that silver weapons, or weapons enhanced with silver, deal increased damage to undead and are extremely effective against werewolves!
