Minecraft Dungeons II has the worst controls I've ever seen. We all want WASD controls, yes... But the issues are deeper than that.
Why do you click enemies to attack them, but to do a jump attack you press Q? That button doesn't do anything when you're on the ground, so WHY is it used for jumping attacks?? Shouldn't there just be ONE attack button? Let us press Q on the ground to attack regularly.
You click to move around and your player will walk to the place you clicked. If you hold down the button the player will have free movement to follow your cursor... But if you stop holding down the button, the PLAYER WILL CONTINUE MOVING to walk to the position your cursor last was when you were pressing the button instead of stopping in place. Its unintuitive and frankly barbaric. Its 2026 why are we using this outdated control scheme?
Lastly, why does the game have such limited controller support??? I made the mistake of buying the game through the Minecraft Launcher rather than Steam, and so I just can't play the game because none of my controllers work. The USB controller I used for my Nintendo Switch, which works perfectly fine on every Indie game I've ever played, does NOT work for Dungeons 2. My brother's X-Box Controller doesn't work either (Microsoft literally owns X-Box???). The game just doesn't have support for any of my controllers for some reason, and I'm not entirely sure why. I shouldn't have to buy the game through Steam just to have basic controller support.
