Currently, there is only a limited number of wool colors in Minecraft. It's stopping players from building high-detailed structures, because it's difficult for them to obtain any specific color.
Instead, players should have the ability to dye wool blocks, stairs, and slabs any color they want, just like leather armor.
Instead of 16 different wool block IDs for each color (red_wool, blue_wool, etc.) there should be only one block (wool_block) which does have a "dyed_color" attribute that defines its color, just like with leather armor.

Dyeing wool blocks should work like dyeing leather armor: the player adds one or more dyes to a wool block, and its color becomes the average color. To prevent the color from being averaged out, there should be "blank" or "none" "dyed_color" value, which player can get by washing wool block in a water cauldron.

Coloring a blank wool block should result in it having the same color as the dye used.
The display name of wool block should change along with its color. For example: "#FFFFFF" stays for "White Wool" and "#FF00FF" stays for "Magenta Wool".
The foregoing shall also apply to wool stairs and slabs.
I think this will be great for building and decoration!
