Hi,
I run a small Bedrock server for me and three friends.
What I'd like is for each of us to be one colour everywhere in a session -
our marker on the Locator Bar, our ping on a Locator Map, and our text in
chat. Right now the bar gives everyone a colour, but map pings are all the
same plain dot, so the two don't agree. And there's no telling who's who in
chat at all.
I'm not asking you to change how the colour gets picked. Random each session
is fine. I just need to be able to see what it is.
Two things would do it:
1. Have a player's ping on a Locator Map use the same colour they already
have on the Locator Bar.
2. Give the Script API a read-only way to get that colour off a Player once
they've spawned, in the same RGB form the waypoint APIs already use. Then
add-ons can carry it into chat and anywhere else it'd help.
You're already picking the colour. I'd just like to be able to read it.
One other thought, take it or leave it. A colour that stayed with you
between sessions would be better - mine changes every join, so it never
becomes mine. I'm guessing you randomize it so nobody gets stuck with a
colour they hate, but letting people pick their own in settings solves that,
and gives add-ons something solid to hook into.
Not the main ask though. Being able to read it would be enough.
Thanks for the Locator Bar - we use it constantly.
