What if Minecraft became a connected universe where every dimension had its own ecosystems, civilizations, history and mysteries?
New dimensions should take time to discover. Players could investigate Pillager outposts, ancient libraries, books and ruins to find clues about portals. Each dimension would have unique animals, monsters, bosses and civilizations. Villagers and Pillagers should adapt to their environments instead of being copies of Overworld mobs.
Deep beneath a massive Pillager fortress could be the secret Forgotten Dimension. It is not mentioned in any books and contains corrupted, glitched and mixed creatures, including an almost unstoppable Corrupted King.
Opening it alerts the King and causes dimensional disruptions. Creatures and environments begin crossing between dimensions. Players must research the corruption, gather resources and repair the ancient seal while the dimensions defend themselves.
After the war, the player discovers how to create their own dimension using powerful artifacts from different dimensions. Their control slowly corrupts them until they become the new Corrupted King.
Before new players arrive, corruption has already begun spreading. Players experience dreams showing possible future events and use them as clues. Eventually, players, mobs, villagers, Pillagers and machines unite for the Corruption War.
This could make Minecraft feel like a living universe built around exploration, survival, research, mystery and cooperation.
