I suggest adding an optional “World Integrity” system when creating a Survival world.
The problem is not simply that players can 'cheat'. It is the difference between “I promise not to use Creative” and “this world does not allow me to use Creative.” In Java, commands can be enabled later through World Options even if they were disabled when the world was created. (Minecraft.net)
For some players, knowing that an emergency escape exists changes the Survival experience. If I am about to lose valuable items, die in lava, or face a dangerous situation, I may think: “I can always enable commands and switch to Creative.” Even if I never do it, the possibility reduces the tension and meaning of the risk.
This should NOT change normal Survival. It should be an opt-in choice.
When creating a world, players could enable:
☐ Lock Game Mode
☐ Lock Allow Commands
☐ Lock Difficulty
Once confirmed, these settings become permanently locked for that world through normal gameplay.
This would create an important middle ground:
Normal Survival: freedom to change settings.
Locked Survival: permanent rules, but normal respawning.
Hardcore: permanent rules and permanent death.
Hardcore is not a complete solution for long-term builders. A player may want to invest thousands of hours into one world while still having genuine danger and consequences, without losing the entire Survival journey after one death.
Please consider giving players the freedom to permanently choose their own limitations.
