Would be super awesome if they added the off had to bedrock that feature alone would be a game changer. Of course Java combat system would also be nice but hey offhand support is a good first step

Standardize Full Off-Hand Functionality for Bedrock & Pocket Edition

    Dear Minecraft Development Team,

I am writing to request a feature update that the Bedrock and Pocket Edition communities have been hoping for: full off-hand item placement and usage, mirroring the mechanics currently available in Minecraft Java Edition.

Currently, off-hand usage on Bedrock/Pocket Edition is limited to specific items like Shields, Maps, Arrows, Totems of Undying, and Fireworks (with a crossbow). While these features are helpful, expanding the off-hand system to support blocks, tools, food, torches, and redstone items would dramatically improve the gameplay experience across all mobile, console, and Bedrock platforms.

Please add full off-hand functionality to Minecraft Bedrock and Pocket Edition, exactly like Java Edition.

Right now, Bedrock players can only hold a few specific items like shields, maps, and arrows in their off-hand. We want to be able to place and use blocks, torches, tools, food, and redstone in our off-hand as well.

Adding this would make building, mining, and survival gameplay much better for Bedrock and Pocket Edition players. Please give us full off-hand parity with Java Edition!

    Dear Minecraft Development Team,
I am writing to request a major feature parity update for Minecraft Bedrock Edition: bringing the Java Edition dual-wielding (off-hand) system to all platforms.
Currently, the Bedrock off-hand slot is severely limited compared to Java Edition, as it only supports specific utility items like shields, maps, and arrows. Expanding the off-hand slot to hold any usable item—such as tools, blocks, food, and potions—would greatly improve the quality of life and gameplay experience for millions of players.

Add Full Off-Hand Functionality to Bedrock Edition with Dual-Control Options for Mobile and PC
    Category:
    Gameplay / Controls / Parity
    Description:
    Dear Minecraft Development Team,
I am writing to suggest adding full Java-style off-hand functionality to Minecraft Bedrock Edition, along with tailored control options for both mobile and PC platforms.
Currently, the Bedrock off-hand slot is limited to specific items like shields and maps. Allowing any usable item (such as torches, food, tools, and potions) in the off-hand would dramatically improve gameplay, eliminate unnecessary inventory management, and reduce resource waste (like constantly placing and breaking torches while mining).
To solve the control challenges across different devices, I propose the following control solutions:
For Mobile Players: Introduce a split-touch control layout. Keep the right side of the screen for attacking and digging, and add a dedicated left-side touch button or action zone specifically for using the off-hand item.
For PC / Controller Players: Provide a customizable keybind option in the settings so players can assign a specific key or mouse button to trigger off-hand actions instantly.
Adding these flexible control options will bridge the gap between Java and Bedrock, making the game smoother and more accessible for millions of players across all devices. Thank you for your hard work and for considering community feedback!
    Sincerely.
