Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Chopping block workstation, and wood wedges

I propose a slight change to wood. Instead of tossing logs or planks into a furnace to smelt things, why not add a chopping block workstation.  This would appear as a tree stump with a log on top. Interacting with this workstation gives you kindling, and chopped wood wedges. These wedges of wood would be a fuel source and a decoration, being able to be placed like candles and sea pickles. This could be done in two ways. Placing the wedges standing up lets you stack 3-4 on a block, in an appealing arrangement. This should be made into a block form, but not crafted back into a log. It would be a block with the texture of stacked wood wedges. This would look cool as a stock of wood for a fire in a mountainous house build. The workstation wood be cool for a lumberjack villager, and to decorate a lumberjack home.

    For ordinary cutting of firewood, a special workstation is not needed. Unless for automatic felling, automatic sawing. It is logical that firewood is a slightly more efficient fuel (in fact, it is easier to dry it, more oxygen layer).

    It is difficult to split a log meter by meter. Minecraft needs thinner tree trunks.
