Hi everyone,Many players want ducks in Minecraft, but the developers always felt they were too similar to chickens. I have a concept that gives ducks a completely unique mechanic and purpose in the game. How Ducks would work:Breeding: Ducks can be bred using standard seeds or seagrass. The Diving Mechanic (Unique Feature): When ducks are floating on water, players can feed them Dried Kelp. Once fed, the duck performs a diving animation. After a few seconds, it resurfaces and drops a random item from the Fishing Loot Pool (junk, treasure, or fish). This turns dried kelp into a valuable resource for automated or interactive looting.Balancing with Chickens: Unlike chickens, which lay eggs every 5–10 minutes, ducks would be much slower egg-layers. They would only drop an egg roughly every 100 minutes (5 Minecraft days). This ensures they don't replace chickens as egg farms, but act as unique, valuable companions for water exploration.(Note on real-world education: I suggested Dried Kelp instead of Bread, as bread is harmful to ducks in real life, and Mojang values animal safety!)I think this would add great flavor to rivers and swamps while offering an exciting new gameplay loop! What do you think?
