Same here! My PC is pretty strong, but the decrease from 200 FPS to 120 and the small freezes make the game annoying to play. Before this I played on pre-release 1 and rc-2, and the game was running smoothly.

EDIT: Managed to fix it. Go to accessibility settings and turn off the narrator, it'll also remove lag related to opening chests if you have that issue.

I had that setting turned off from the start, but the problem wasn't resolved.
The game's frame rate is low, and it runs slowly.

for me it's not just the framerate. Before the Update everything was fine, no issues.
Now the framerate is somewhere in the basement and textures even stop rendering sometimes.
And I'm not talking about magenta/black "missing textures", no. Sometimes I open my inventory and there is nothing there, it's completely empty, all Item textures are still asleep or something.
Until a minute ago I thought it would just happen to item textures, but now it even happened to placed blocks too. Placed a Wool block and created a visual hole in reality.
    This Version is performing horribly.

Ive been playing 26.1.2 even after 26.2 came out, because 26.2 is so laggier, I used to get 50-60 fps when I was playing on 26.1.2, but now when I play 26.2, my average fps are 20-35, its unplayable

Please reduce the usage of RAM just a little bit so we can play atleast with 10 more fps

Been having the same issue. Thought it was my mods at first but even with all mods uninstalled the frame rate is atrocious when it ran smooth as butter in 26.1 with shaders installed and maxed out settings... least optimized game in existence istg. I really hope they fix whatever is causing this before the next update...

I am experiencing the same problem. I play on a 15inch MacBook Air M4 (plugged in) at native resolution, fancy graphics and 12 Chunks render distance (vanilla). I used to get 120 FPS with vsync and approx. 180 without. Since 26.2, FPS rarely exceed 70 FPS and vary dramatically, often dropping below 30 for no apparent reason. I have not changed any settings. I also noticed that animations such as dropping items have become very choppy, but I don't know if that could be attributed to the unstable frame rate.

PS: I changed the graphics API back to OpenGL, but that didn't help either (even though I restarted the game), so its probably not only tied to the new graphics API.

another addition: I allocated 16GB of RAM and have 24 gigs total. System-Usage rarely exceeds 6GB. Minecraft 26.2 uses about 200-400 MB of that, so that's not the problem either.

I'm also having this issue. I thought it was just my laptop but it's not. My friend and I have a server and it was on 1.20.11 and everything was running smoothly, not even a little bit of lag and then we update the server to 26.2 for the new features and my frame rate keeps dropping all the way to 0 for like 3 minutes and I can't even move. I have died multiple times playing this version due to the lag. The game is unplayable for me. Normally my fps is 120+ so I don't understand why it's dropping all the way to 0 on ONLY this version.
