I believe that minecon capes should be devalued from their current status. The ever evolving black market for minecraft capes is a insane rabbit hole that many players find themselves trapped in and taken advantage of. The most damaging items by far are the minecon capes (2011-2016) Unlike the cape codes that are still active today, the minecon codes have been expired for years. This has unintentionally promoted account selling especially with these capes scarce quantity. This illegal market separates the fan base and goes against Microsoft and Mojang's guidelines.
I believe a good and fair solution to remedy this issue of account buying is to allow the minecon skinpacks (2015-2016) from bedrock edition to be transferred over to java edition. Example: if you have the 2016 minecon skinpack on bedrock edition you would receive the 2016 minecon cape on java edition. Mojang taking this action would decrease account selling and strengthen the community between bedrock and java players. This would even help with partiy! The 2019 minecon skinpack was released on bedrock edition before the character creator. Once the character creator was released the cape from that skinpack was then put into the character editor and eventually was transferred over to java edition.
There are many ways to combat this black market issue minecraft suffers from and I believe this action would strengthen the community and pay respect to fans that have followed the game for years!
Thank you
