Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Rushes (a.k.a. straw)

A rush is a plant that grows in moist areas: riverbanks, lakeshores, shallows etc. They can't be placed deeper than on block underwater. They can grow on dirt, gravel and sand up to four blocks away from nearest water source. You harvest the rushes with a hoe (maybe with a shear). With nine rushes you can craft a rush block that can be used to craft rush stairs and rush slabs. Rushes is one of the plants that are commonly used as roofing in many different cultures in the world. That's why the rush would be a great cosmetic to have available in Minecraft. It would also add even more atmosphere to landscape of the game and fit The Wild Update really well
