Revert the 26.2-pre-2 changes on Attribute Swapping

On the latest snapshot you can no longer quickly swap from one item to another and retain its attributes/use case. This change not only patched PvP techniques (breach swapping, lunge swapping, ...) used by tens if not hundreds of thousands of players, but it also makes performing actions quickly much more difficult.

For example, a use case of the previous item switching system was a technique often referred to as 'Breach Swapping'. By holding a fully charged Netherite Sword with an attribute of 8 attack damage you would quickly switch to a Mace with the Breach IV enchantment and click. What this would do is take the attack damage of the sword and practically apply it to the Mace, making the Mace deal the sword's damage while retaining its properties of performing smash attacks and being enchanted with breach.

This 'bug' is no longer simply an error in the game's code, as its been in the game for so long that it has been accepted by players as a staple of the game rather than a problem that needs to be fixed.

This still stands after 26.2-pre-3, since they claim that Attribute Swapping will be patched in future snapshots.

    If there was no attribute swapping in coming versions player will leave the game bcoz there will be no fun and whole pvp community will become trash bcoz of it.Thats whats the point of adding spear if there will be no attribute swapping.

    This been at the game for a while and other bug mojang just accepted as feature but as the attribute swapping at the game for a while and the community already accepted as feature as the buff for PvP if this actually going to be at the new version everyone EVERYONE going to be at the old version because of the attribute swapping and it's destroyed everything about PvP so don't do it

    The fact that i cant axe swap in mace pvp, lunge swap in spear pvp, fast xbow carting in cart pvp makes me staying on 1.21.11

    Removing attribute swapping does not just hurt Minecraft PvP but also prevents a lot of content potential and opportunities for Youtubers (saying this from the perspective of a creator).

    Please remove lunge swapping. There are a lot of macro users in PvP servers who take unfair advantage of the game. However, please don't remove breach swapping.also patch shield draining and stunslammming

    Hello me fellow Mojang developers of Minecraft. The newest version, 26.2 has remove attribute swapping and we are in pain without them. Minecraft PvP will go downhill in the version 26.2 so what I will suggest is switch to a lower version than 26.2. I suggest switch to 1.21.11 where attribute swapping is normally fine. But safe to say, alot of pro pvpers will not like this 26.2 update since attribute swapping is one of pvp's most affective mechanic in Minecraft. Peace out.

    Please. for the love of millions of players who find peace and comfort in your game. don’t ruin it. I beg you. Lunge swapping isn’t just a pvp necessity, it’s a complete quality of life increase that will be rendered useless. Pvp that has evolved using the new weapons you introduced will essentially nullified. Please don’t. I beg

    If they're removing fun bugs like this might as well remove tnt duping, bedrock breaking, diagonal sprinting, and the creeper. Oh also remove pearling through blocks so no more nether roof. Do you notice an issue? All of these impact the game positively, and SO DOES ATTRIBUTE SWAPPING.

    To add on to my previous comment, while you are reverting this change would you also revert your changes to stunning shields and flying with the sulfer cube? You seem to love the latter as you used it in an advertisement even though it's been removed.

    This new update quite literally affects ALL forms of pvp, such as
    Mace
    UHC
    Crystal
    Axe
    SPEAR PVP!
    Honestly without it, many wouldnt find the pvp style they love so much fun anymore. The nether roof is a example of a feature that was a BUG. Bring back attribute swapping.

    This affects crystal PvPers too. You cannot place crystals quickly at all anymore, respawn anchors are rendered useless, and d-tapping is just not possible anymore. And, of course, spear-mace is just not a thing anymore.

    lets be honest, this ruins peoples experience and fun this WAS a bug but now people use it in daily pvp which is a HUGE part of minecraft and a lot of top tier pvpers would NOT like this as the “bug” is like a part of the game now and its required for. spearmace which is a big gamemode now. u guys should stop making USELESS UPDATES AND FIXING “BUGS”

    Attribute swapping has been become a CRUCIAL part of the pvp community, honestly, id quit if this stays the same, that's how implemented it has become in the pvp community.

    I think mojang should fix this, attribute swapping is a key mechanic in minecraft pvp and minecraft in general if attribute swapping is removed the players skill level will decrease which shouldn't be good

    This BREAKS Minecraft PvP, as it impacts... here we go: Cooldown Trick, Breach Swapping, Density Swapping, Stun Slamming, Crystalling, Anchoring, Pearl Catching, Lunge Swapping, Instacarting, etc... What I'm getting at is that this undoes a generational amount of tech and skill that players have developed over years, destroying whole communities if not reverted, and this is only what I've seen so far.

    Additionally, it is important to note that this isn't a bug which drastically reduces the game's experience, as it is not game-breaking such as other bugs which may have caused lag or duplication or other quality diminishing effects, and therefore is not a 'bug' in the traditional sense, as it actually improves the standard of the game (especially PvP-based multiplayer) due to the higher skill ceiling allowing for a more interesting and enjoyable PvP experience. Removing this gets rid of all the benefits, leaving our PvP communities broken, undoing the hundreds of hours each player poured into developing this skill, and most importantly, removing what has become an essential part of the game that has evolved it in its entirety.
