The marsh biome would be found near rivers, swamps, or mangrove swamps. River biomes can span inside the marsh biome. Found in the biome are reeds and cattails, two new ground-cover blocks which let the snake mob slither through. The snake mob is small, green, and of the neutral type. When killed, it has a small chance to drop venom, which can be used directly to make poison arrows or brew poison potions. Along with the reeds and cattails for plants, comes dead oak trees. The tree trunks rise directly upward and have short branches to either side. The wood is slightly lighter than oak in color and naturally has no bark. Its branches are made of dead oak branch blocks. The new branch block can be crafted from any stripped log type, and is the width and height of a player head, but spans horizontally. The block can come in handy when constructing more intricate tree models.
