When the warden can't pathfind to you, eg: your up high or in the floor it would dig into skulk infested ground, and pull out a skulkmite, (skulkmite being small like a silverfish/endermite) and throw it towards you, and the skulkmite would be able to climb walls, dig through stone type blocks, and blocks where there texture appears cracked (like stone, deepslate, stone bricks, deepslate bricks, also obsidian, but not netherite) turning them into skulk in the process (with a small chance of creating a catalyst) they would avoid the players gaze and it would also attack you for 1 damage but would damage armor by 40 durability and shields by 100 durability, making a munching sound, and would not respect immunity frames if you do not wear armor (numbers might be subject to balancing). This would be making it the hardest mob to hit, as it would always be avoiding your crosshair, making the deep dark a scary place. The warden may summon these skulkmites during battle as well. The warden also may be able to ride/dismount groups of skulkmites depending on the situation (maybe dismounting if he gets hit too much), and the warden would not take suffocation damage while riding skulkmites. (name of skulkmites may be subject to change if the developers/community have a better idea as I'm not very creative). Skulkmites would also move at a slightly slower pace then the player's sprint.
TL;DR: silverfish that goes through walls and kills the pillar/hole method unless you got a strong block.
