Minecraft brings real-world inspiration into its worlds, but one unique and endangered ecosystem is missing: the Araucaria Forest.
Found in southern Brazil, this biome features the iconic Araucaria tree (Brazilian pine), known for its tall trunk and umbrella-shaped canopy. Adding it would expand biome diversity while introducing simple but meaningful gameplay.
Features:
Tall Araucaria trees with a unique shape
Cooler climate with light fog or frost
Forest floor with leaves and pinecones
New Item: Pine Nut (Pinhão)
Drops from trees
Can be cooked for better hunger
Can be replanted
Optional Mob: Azure Jay (Gralha-azul)
Interacts with pine nuts
Helps plant new trees naturally
Environmental Interaction:
Heavy deforestation slows regrowth
Preserving trees improves forest health
This biome fits Minecraft’s design: simple, creative, and inspired by real nature. It would also bring representation to a rare ecosystem while adding new exploration and atmosphere.
