Within my proposed adobe structures or among the badlands biome and my proposed blue mesa and desert shrubland biomes new type of decorative natural block may generate along the walls, acting as a natural chiseled block containing ancient petroglyphs. Instead of being its own unique stagnant block, potentially, a new functionality could be introduced that allows the symbols of pottery sherds to be carved unto the surfaces of hardened clay or terracotta, introducing building variety, acting much like current clay pots. These petroglyphs could have some sort of gameplay mechanic beyond decoration by introducing some minor status effects within a small area depending on the symbols like an early to mid game beacon. These could affect the player or affect processes like speeding up smelting time, plant growth, potion brewing, and breeding cool downs, increasing drops from farming and killing mobs, a chance to increase the amount of babies produced from breeding, increasing or decreasing hostile and passive mob spawn rates, applying a slight luck effect for fishing and mob drops, affecting villager trade rates, and, my favorite, applying a small chance for materials to not be consumed during crafting processes. If these effects must be fueled and activated, my proposed turquoise ore could be used either by having the glyphs consume turquoise and light up or by placing turquoise near or next to the glyphs. Different materials/gems could work on certain glyphs or at varying strength
