Arizona is a beautiful state with multiple possible inspirations for Minecraft additions. Within it are many diverse biomes, some already represented in vanilla such as the badlands and coniferous forests. For my idea, I propose a new biome based off the Sonora desert known as the desert shrublands. The Sonora desert is sometimes referred to as sub tropical, living desert, containing much more varied plantlife and wildlife compared to the typical arid deserts and badlands existing within Minecraft. This biome could include larger grass plains or small rocky mountainous regions. This biome could introduce larger plant variety to minecraft with various aloe veras, barrel catci, chollas, ocotillos, prickly pears, shrubs, yucca plants, and wildflowers, and potential mobs could pull from road runners, javelinas, coyotes, rattle snakes, bob cats, mountain lions, cactus wrens, vultures, gila monsters, scorpians, and ecetera; these are just some of the more prominent animals and plants I've encountered around my home. The desert shrublands could introduce a new tree type known as the Palo Verde, named due to their striking vibrant green trunks due to high amounts a chloroplasts. This could serve as a great opportunity to introduce a light green wood variant, although its not exactly true to life. During the spring season, the Palo Verde is overcome with a vibrant yellow flowery canopy allowing for a very unique look and leaf block opposed to traditional green leaves.
