Mojang struggles to create updates that have a meaningful impact on the game as a whole; each content drop feels lackluster. The "Content Drops" feel as if they have no content, and they have nothing that truly impacts how we play the game. This is not the fault of Mojang; it’s because of how content drops are designed. The development cycle that Mojang pivoted to after the backlash of the Wild Update was a mistake in my opinion; more updates with less content have only harmed the community’s outlook on the game. Some people seem to love the updates, but I believe that most people are like me—a person who loves Minecraft but feels slightly alienated by the lack of content. I’m not saying the updates are bad, they just do not have the same quality as the previous updates once had. Having one cohesive update a year would be the solution in my opinion. (the old system minus mob votes). It gives the developers more time to understand their vision for Minecraft while, at the same time, creating an environment that allows for the development of content that furthers progression. Minecraft needs an update cycle that focuses on developing focused updates that improve Minecraft, not just filling the game with bloat. A new development cycle would easily foster the creation of updates like an End Update or an update to the inventory system. Minecraft is an amazing game with lots of content, but it hasn’t gotten an impactful gameplay update in years. Minecraft needs more in-depth updates
