The Sulfur Caves are a great concept visually, but they could offer deeper gameplay by introducing a chemical-based progression system.
New Effect: Corrosion!
A new status effect that:
- Deals damage over time (can kill, unlike poison).
- Damages armor durability faster.
- Adds a strong visual “burning” effect.
Sulfuric Acid as a Resource!
- Collectable with buckets or bottles.
- Acts as both a hazard and a crafting ingredient.
Advanced Alchemy!
Sulfuric acid is used in real-life medicine, so why not give it meaningful uses in Minecraft as well?
- Ability to enhance potions (higher level, shorter duration).
- New unstable potions with strong effects and side effects.
New Materials!
- Plastic: durable, waterproof, useful for building.
- Seamless Glass: connects without borders for cleaner builds (with possible acid-resistant variant).
Environmental Danger!
- Toxic gas zones in caves.
- Requires preparation (potions or equipment) before exploration.
Biome Progression!
Base Biome – Sulfur Caves
- Safer area where sulfur blocks generate.
Sub-Biomes (High Risk):
- Sulfuric Acid Chambers: high acid concentration, better loot.
- Sulfuric Acid Mantle: large acid lakes, extreme danger.
Core Idea!
This system would:
- Add a new “chemical” progression path.
- Encourage preparation before exploration.
- Reward players who take risks in dangerous areas.
This would make Sulfur Caves feel more unique, challenging, and rewarding while staying consistent with Minecraft’s exploration focus.
