Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Material Rebalancing

Especially after the Caves and Cliffs Part II, the value of materials, most notably diamonds, has severely decreased. Now, once you have good villagers, a source of emeralds, and an enchantment table, you don't need to go mining ever again unless you need iron (farmable), or redstone (also farmable, but less commonly farmed). Therefore, I think that there should be more uses for materials like diamonds or lapis.
