My idea consists of a new mechanic or upgrade table that allows the player to upgrade books to higher levels using XP and an item, such as quartz or amethyst. There would be a table; the slot would hold the space for the book, and below it, the upgrade stone. The higher the level of the book the player wants to upgrade, the more XP it costs to improve it. For example, it would be necessary to have one enchanted book, such as Unbreakable 1, with the upgrade table. When placing the book (always needing at least one book to activate the table), the amount of XP spent in the process would appear, increasing with the higher the level. In the case of Unbreakable, it could start at a slightly higher value, since it only has 3 levels, but the remaining enchantments would have to be balanced, starting with low XP and going up to higher levels. If this stone were something found in exploration or crafted with items, it would give a greater reason to explore the world, and the XP would be more useful and interactive, even for those who have XP farms. Therefore, to balance this, they could increase the rarity of crafting the upgrade stone. Even with anvils, it's still very poor and needs other things, so we can focus our XP on improving it. Enchanting them on the anvil would allow for more enchantments to be added to the tool in the future.
